Import a WhatsApp export straight from the Files app or the share sheet. WhatsConvo detects the export format automatically, shows you a preview — chat name, message counts, media, date range — and rebuilds the conversation in a familiar chat interface, complete with sender names, timestamps, and every photo, video, voice note, and document in place.
Export the same chat again next month? WhatsConvo detects what it already has and imports only the new messages. Your archive stays current without duplicates piling up.
Find that one message
Somewhere in six years of group chat is the address, the recipe, the exact thing someone said. WhatsConvo searches across all your imported chats at once — by message content, sender, chat name, date, or media file name — and shows matching snippets with the keyword highlighted. Tap a result and you land on that message in its full context, so you can read what came before and after.
All your media, one gallery
Every photo, video, audio clip, and document from every chat, browsable in a single gallery. Filter by type, view full-screen with pinch-to-zoom, play videos and voice notes, open PDFs and Office documents — and for any file, see exactly which chat it came from, who sent it, and when.
Behind the scenes, WhatsConvo deduplicates intelligently: identical files shared across multiple chats are stored once, and perceptual hashing catches near-duplicate photos too. The storage dashboard shows you exactly how much space that saves.
Memory Lane
This is the feature that makes WhatsConvo feel less like a utility and more like a photo album. Each day, it surfaces moments from your archive — photos and media from this same day in years past. Tap one and you’re back in the original conversation, reliving not just the picture but everything around it.
Private by construction
WhatsConvo has no server, no account, no analytics, and no tracking. Your chats never leave your device — imports, search, everything happens locally, with your media stored in the app’s private sandbox under iOS data protection.
